Why Are Homes Sitting Longer on the Market Lately?
Lately, a lot of sellers have been asking me why their homes — or their neighbors’ — are taking longer to sell. The main reason? Buyers have gotten cautious. Higher rates mean they’re choosier and more analytical.
That doesn’t mean the market’s bad — it’s just more balanced. The homes that still move fast are the ones that look move-in ready and are priced realistically. I’ve seen a simple refresh — better photos, staging, or a slight price tweak — reignite interest overnight.
The good news: serious buyers are still shopping. They’re just making thoughtful choices instead of rushing in.
